It must be said that 2016 was clearly not my year. So many things happened to me personally that put things in perspective and change my look on the world. I didn’t spend as much time nourishing my love for photography as I have in the passed years, but that is about to change.

2016 was a bad year for me, me and Kristín got divorced, she and our two children moved to Norway for a better life than can be offered here in Iceland, but with my blessing. All on good terms. So to say that this year been an emotional roller coaster would be the understatement of the century.
Due to a lot of things related to this I haven’t been as active as I wanted in regards to photography. I didn’t do a single wedding, only took a few clients in the first few months of last year and I didn’t travel a bit.

This year however I am going to use this allotment of me-time to grow as a photographer, grow as a person and make my life a bit better.

I’ve started to share a studio with other photographers as well as setting up a small personal studio at my place, more for intimate portraits and tests that I have had in the back of my mind for way too long. I’ve even gotten myself an alter ego for landscapes which I will advertise later on when and if I get that ship sailing.

As well I am going to do more of giving my work for those in need of a little boost or help. Last Christmas I did a free photo shoots for 8 families as a gift for them. I even got a local company here in Iceland to give them a print of the photo as well as 30x of a 10x15cm to include with a card to give out for the holidays.

Last night I went with one of my flatmates to the studio to get our creative juices flowing and I must say, it feels damn good to be back at it. The photo at the top of this page is one of the many photos we did and I am very proud of how it came out, you can see it better here below. I’ll share more soon, as I go over them and edit over time =)
